Use of the Hauge Log Church for Special Events

The Hauge Log Church and it's surrounding grounds can be reserved for special events such as weddings, reunions, picnics, or other family occasions. It is not available for commercial uses, parties, or camping. The 1852 Hauge Log Church Preservation Association, Inc. maintains sole discretion as to what events are suitable for the Hauge site.

The Hauge Preservation Association asks for a donation of $75.00 per day to reserve the church building and surrounding grounds. If any tents, shelters, or other structures are to be erected on days preceding the event, or if they will remain on the site any day after conclusion of the event, an additional $75.00 per day will be charged for each additional day that such structures remain on the site.

Reservations for use of the church site are considered tentative and may be superseded by a paid reservation until such time as the Hauge Preservation Association receives your donation. Donations must be in the hands of the Hauge Preservation Association at Post Office Box 34, Blue Mounds, Wisconsin 53517 at least 14 days (two weeks) prior to your scheduled event or your reservation will be cancelled and the date offered to other parties that may be on the waiting list. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and are used to support ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Hauge Church and it's surrounding grounds.

Please keep in mind a few ground rules...

  • No fires of any kind are allowed on the property or anywhere in the surrounding park! This includes the use of candles within the church building.

  • Use common sense when decorating to avoid any damage to the 155 year-old building. We suggest nothing larger than thumb tacks to attach decorations, and ask that no permanent adhesives, etc. be used

  • Clean up the church and grounds when your event is completed - we expect you to leave the area as you found it! A $50.00 surcharge will apply if additional cleanup is required.

  • We strongly discourage larger vehicles such as buses or motor homes entering the Hauge grounds! The narrow driveway along with limited space to turn around have led to past problems with such vehicles causing damage to the yard area. We recommend that larger vehicles park at the foot of the driveway along Highway Z.

  • Remember that there is no electricity or running water available so plan accordingly.

Should you have any further questions please call the 1852 Hauge Log church Preservation Association, Inc. at        (608) 437-4419. We hope you enjoy the time you spend at the Hauge Historic Site and that your event is a truly memorable occasion.

Thank you for your continued support of the Hauge Log Church!
